How To Memorize Pi

Bored people only. All others will become bored.

The World Record of Pi Memorization

First, let me say that I am not sure whether the following record has been since broken. If it has, and you know it has, and you know the details as well (including, who, when, and how many digits), find some creative way to contact me. Start your own webpage called "HEY DUDE OBSESSED W/ PI MEMO! JOSE FERDANDEZ BEAT THE DERNED RECORD IN 2001!" Whatever works for you. I'm too paranoid to post my personal e-mail address on this site.

What I can say is that in 1995, Hiroyuki Goto from Japan recited forty-two thousand, one hundred, ninety-five digits without error. Now there's a geek! (I did not mean that as an insult in any way, Mr. Goto.)

Can you beat it?

Well, gee, I may as well give up.

Halt! That thinking will get you nowhere! There's probably someone better at {insert favorite hobby here} than you, but do you give up? No! No one said you had to beat forty-two thousand digits. You should be proud for memorizing fifty. I know I was.
